From Medicine to Masterpieces: How a Doctor Embraced Art Therapy and Creativity

Bridging between the clinical world of medicine and the vibrant world of art, a journey I embraced wholeheartedly four years ago, was nothing short of life-changing. This incredible adventure led to the creation of my dream Inks and Splashes!

We all yearn to pursue something close to our hearts, something that resonates with our souls. For me, that “something” has always been art. Since childhood, I found immense joy in my humble drawing book and a set of crayons, the treasures that connected me to my true self.

In this blog, I want to share with you my journey of fun, enthusiasm, challenges, and invaluable life lessons.

Breaking Free from Norms

Many of us feel trapped in 9-to-5 jobs, believing they are our only source of livelihood. But have you ever questioned the norms dictated by family expectations, societal pressures, or financial responsibilities?

‘Going against the flow is tough, but only dead fish go with the flow. True strength comes from resisting the tide and pursuing your passion.’

Finding the Source of Passion

I always knew that once I became a doctor, I would definitely chase my dream of painting. But sharing this vision with others brought waves of skepticism and criticism. Friends and colleagues doubted its practicality, citing financial stability and the expectations tied to a medical career.

Their doubts planted a seed of hesitation within me, but I reminded myself that passion is worth pursuing, even when it feels impractical.

Staying Focused and Seeking Support

Persistence was my guiding star. My parents, who nurtured my creativity as a child, became my greatest supporters. With their encouragement, I took the bold step of launching Inks and Splashes.

Criticism and doubt didn’t deter me, instead, they fueled me to work harder. I refined my skills, experimented with new techniques, and expanded my artistic horizons.

Transforming Doubts into Strength

Instead of letting doubts hinder my journey, I turned them into opportunities for growth. By believing in myself, I embraced the dual roles of being a doctor and an artist.

Each brushstroke became a moment of liberation, a way to blend medicine and artistry into a life filled with purpose and fulfilment.

A Journey of Self-Realization

Art therapy transformed my perspective. Balancing my career in medicine with my passion for painting wasn’t just a creative outlet, it was healing. My journey showed me that pursuing dreams is a path to self-realization and inner growth.

My Message to You
